The tournament, an eight-team showcase featuring 64 college basketball seniors, begins Wednesday at 7 p.m. Thompson will play in front of professional scouts, including scouts from international leagues.

Thompson will compete for the Portsmouth Sports Club alongside fellow Big Ten forward Justice Sueing, who finished his Ohio State career this season.

Over six seasons at Indiana, Thompson played in 130 games, scoring 997 career points, averaging 7.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

According to the release, Juwan Morgan was the last Hoosier to participate in the tournament. In the past, players like Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Tim Hardaway and Jimmy Butler have competed in the Portsmouth Invitational.
