Indiana men’s basketball senior forward Trayce Jackson-Davis was awarded the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year award, the Basketball Hall of Fame announced Saturday.

Jackson-Davis edged out University of Arizona junior Azoulas Tubelis, Gonzaga University senior Drew Timme, Iowa junior Kris Murray and Providence College sophomore Bryce Hopkins to earn recognition as the nation’s top power forward. Jackson-Davis is the first player in Indiana men’s basketball history to win a national positional award.

The senior captain was recently named a consensus First-Team All-American and a finalist for both the Naismith Trophy and Wooden Award, recognizing the best player in college basketball.

Jackson-Davis averaged 20.9 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4 assists and 2.9 blocks per game this season — all career highs. He led the Hoosiers to a second-place finish in the Big Ten and a 4-seed in the NCAA Tournament.
