Bloomington Police Department officers responded to reports of shots fired at the shopping plaza in the 300 block of East Winslow Road at 1:46 p.m. Monday.

According to a BPD press release, officers determined upon arrival there had been an exchange of gunfire between two men, and they discovered a nearby building was struck by bullets.

Witnesses told the officers a white SUV fled the scene with a shattered rear window after the shooting.

Shortly after, officers spotted a vehicle matching that description on South Rockport Road. They stopped the car and took the occupants into custody for questioning.

After reviewing video footage from the scene and interviewing witnesses, authorities learned the two men involved in the incident were 18 and 19 years old and knew each other. Police also recovered a stolen firearm during the investigation, according to the release.

The investigation is ongoing, and there is no further information currently available for release.
