Indiana baseball released its schedule for 2024 on Wednesday, with the season set to begin Feb. 16-18 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for the “Baseball at the Beach” weekend series.
The Hoosiers will face Duke University at 11 a.m. in the Friday opener before taking on Coastal Carolina University and George Mason University on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Indiana’s first home game comes Feb. 20, when it’ll host the University of Miami (Ohio) at 4 p.m. at Bart Kaufman Field. A road trip to Waco, Texas, for a three-game series against Baylor University from Feb. 23-25 ensues before another one-off in Bloomington Feb. 27 against Purdue University Fort Wayne.
The week after, the Hoosiers depart for their second early-season event, they’ll take part in the Frisco Classic on Mar. 1-3. Indiana will face the University of Alabama, Dallas Baptist University and the University of Arizona from Friday through Sunday.
Upon returning to Bloomington, Indiana will play 16 of its next 19 games at home, including its first Big Ten series against Illinois on Mar. 22-24. The Hoosiers’ road games come at Vanderbilt University on Mar. 12, at Indiana State on Mar. 19 and at Butler University on Mar. 28.
Indiana enters the bulk of its Big Ten slate Apr. 5-7 on the road against Maryland. The Hoosiers will conclude the season with a three-game series at home against Michigan from May 16-18 with hopes of making the postseason for the second consecutive year.
Last season, Indiana went 43-20 but fell one win shy of advancing to the NCAA Super Regional, losing 4-2 to the University of Kentucky in a winner-take-all game.
