As a part of their Sleighin’ It tour, a cappella group Straight No Chaser will perform 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at IU Auditorium. Tickets are available for $29 for students and $43 for non-students.
Although the all-male singing group began in 1996 at Indiana University, it is now internationally renowned for its unique vocal abilities and arrangements. They perform annual holiday tours for audiences of all ages.
The act consists of nine performers: Walter Chase, Steve Morgan, Tyler Trepp, Randy Stine, Jerome Collins, Freedom Young, Michael Luginbill, Seggie Isho and Jasper Smith. The group has been performing for 27 years and has had many collaborations with artists including Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney.
Their most recent album, released Nov. 3, is an 8-song holiday-themed project titled “Stocking Stuffer.”
During the event, IU Auditorium will be accepting donations to benefit Beacon, Inc. The organization aids people experiencing homelessness and poverty in Bloomington and Monroe County. The marked bins will be inside the auditorium’s front entrance. The recommended items include toiletries such as deodorant and toothpaste, blankets and umbrellas.
