CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Indiana men’s basketball sophomore center Kel’el Ware will not play against Illinois on Saturday afternoon at the State Farm Center.
Saturday marks Ware’s second straight game missed after being ruled out at Wisconsin on Jan. 19. Woodson said Ware landed on a player’s foot and turned his ankle in practice on an unspecified date.
“He did some warmup drills with us,” Woodson said Thursday via Zoom. “Nothing where he’s had contact. He just basically did some endurance stuff on the floor with us during our warmup.”
Ware entered Saturday as the Hoosiers’ second-leading scorer with 14.2 points per game and leading rebounder with 9.4 boards per contest.
Indiana (12-7) and Illinois (14-5) will tip off at 3 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on FOX.
