Actress Hunter Schafer is still set to speak at 7 p.m,. Thursday, in the IU Auditorium as a
“Speaking of Excellence” lecturer following her arrest in New York earlier in the week.
Schafer was among about 50 anti-war demonstrators who were taken into police custody at NBC’s New York headquarters Tuesday. Jewish Voices for Peace organized the event to protest President Joe Biden’s appearance on “Late Night with Seth Myers.”
In an Instagram post from Jewish Voices for Peace, Schafer can be seen as part of a group holding a large banner that reads “The whole world is watching.”
Bruce Smail, director of the IU LGBTQ+ Culture Center, confirmed that Schafer will speak as planned at the lecture. Tickets are available online through the IU Auditorium.
