Moments before No. 14 Indiana women’s basketball defeated Northwestern inside Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, Illinois, the National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for the surrounding area.
The warning expired at 9:30 EST (8:30 CST). The team has yet to leave the arena, according to a team spokesperson. Peegs.com reporter Talia Goodman said fans were unable to leave the stadium.

The IDS has not been able to verify that fans were unable to leave the arena.
Ground stops were put into place for O’Hare and Midway international airports, according to CBS News.
Tornado warnings are issued when a tornado has been sighted or indicated by weather radar, according to the NWS.
