Welcome back to Lilly’s Local Tunes! Get out and enjoy the warmer temperatures with a weekend of new artists and familiar favorites. There’s something for everyone this weekend, including a handful of free shows!
Thursday
The Hungarian Slacks, a blues rock quartet, will perform a free all-ages show at 7 p.m. at The Orbit Room.
Local cover band Welcome To The Neighborhood plays at 10 p.m. at The Bluebird Nightclub. Tickets are $5 for this 21+ show.
Friday
Bloomington’s Six Foot Blonde will return at 9 p.m. on Feb. 9 to The Bluebird with Nashville-based Wonderlands to open. Tickets are $10 for this 21+ show.
Subterranean Frequencies, a night of underground club music mixed by DJ Deep Sense, will take over 8-11 p.m. at The Orbit Room. There’s no cover for this 21+ night. On Instagram, Deep Sense said it was a unique blend of sound and visuals.
Saturday
Louisville based post-punk band Charm School will perform at 10 p.m. at The Bishop Bar with guests Swan Wash and Placer. Admission is $10 for this 21+ show. Charm School is a project helmed by musician Andrew Sellers and their sound is inspired by a mix between 70’s post-punk and 90’s alt rock.
Hairbangers Ball, an 80’s hard rock tribute group, will bring the “decade of decadence” to life at 9 p.m. at The Bluebird. Tickets start at $10 for this 21+ event.
The Orbit Room is hosting two Americana and roots bands Saturday night. Starting at 7 p.m. Colin Cutler & Hot Pepper Jam is joined by The Otter Brothers for a night of acoustic and folk music. Tickets are available online for $10.
Rock bands Gout, Hurricane Jova and The Hollow Ones play at 8 p.m. at The Blockhouse.
Sunday
Shoegaze band Wishy is joined by Burlington musician Lily Seabird and Vilagerr for a show at 8 p.m. at The Blockhouse. Admission is $10 for this 21+ event.
