The National Weather Service indicated Monroe County was at slight risk for severe thunderstorms late Tuesday evening that will last throughout the night.
According to the National Weather Service, slight risks affect “between 2 and 5 percent” of an impacted area.
“We continue to analyze the atmospheric setup for Tuesday and Tuesday night, and the potential for severe thunderstorms continues. While confidence has continued to increase, some uncertainty remains with regards to timing, location and coverage,” the report said.
According to a New York Times article, “Record-shattering warmth” followed immediately by frigidly cold weather will create the opportunity for hail and possible tornadoes across the Midwest Tuesday and into Wednesday morning.
Monroe County residents can monitor the forecast through local weather channels and NWS live trackers.
