Finally, it’s time to think about your plans for the upcoming school year. Although you may be intimidated by searching for a place you’ll call home for a year, Bloomington has plenty of student housing all around town. No matter your price range, there are affordable options in every direction.
Near Memorial Stadium
While Indiana football has made numerous additions during the offseason, there are countless housing options within walking distance of Memorial Stadium. Expansive apartment complexes like Stadium Crossing, Touchdown Terrace and Evolve sit on the west side of Dunn Street, alongside others further west.
No longer do you have a lengthy walk from your dorm or a hefty drive from the opposite side of town, now you can walk to the stadium and Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall to cheer on the Hoosiers.
East Third Street
Ever find yourself at the College Mall shopping with friends? Not only are there numerous stores to check out, but there are also a bevy of apartment complexes nearby.
Reserve on Third, The Monroe and Current at Latimer Square are just a few to name. Other complexes like Fountain Park Apartments and Woodbridge Apartments are just north of the mall, nestled a bit further away from Third Street.
College Avenue
While you may know College Avenue as the street that takes you south toward downtown Bloomington, housing options are everywhere. Complexes like Tenth & College, The Avenue on College, 10 North and 9 North are just a few.
These options are close to downtown, leaving you with shorter walks to popular restaurants or nightlife with your friends.
West Third Street
Although it may seem to be further from campus, West Third Street houses some of the finest apartments in Bloomington. The Village at Muller Park, The Dillon and The Quarters each have options to bus to campus with the latter two having private shuttles.
Despite being distanced from campus and the mall, there are numerous restaurants near I-69 to explore.
South of campus
While there may not be many apartments south of campus, there are plenty of houses to choose from. Not only are you closer to campus but you can also enjoy the amenities that may come with a house — such as a basement, a porch or a patio.
Finding yourself within walking distance of Kirkwood Avenue while also being able to walk to class could prove luxurious.
