The Sundance Film Festival Short Film Tour will showcase seven different works from the original Festival’s 2023 list of short films. It will take place 8 p.m., March 1, in the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.
The Sundance Film Festival, the biggest independent film festival in the U.S., is held every January in Salt Lake City, Utah. Different works from American and international independent filmmakers are highlighted during the 10 days that the event takes place.
The festival is one of the best ways for talented filmmakers to bring new voices into the world of cinema, showcasing their films sometimes for the first time to large audiences. The event gives them an opportunity to give their films exposure, sometimes resulting in a successful career launch in the filmmaking industry. A couple of notable people who jumpstarted their career at Sundance are Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson.
The short film tour is a 90-minute program consisting of seven different short films coming from the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, which includes two festival award-winning films, “Rest Stop” and “When You Left Me On That Boulevard.” There is an array of different types of films being shown, including fiction, documentary and animation.
The films being shown during the festival are “Help Me Understand,” “Inglorious Liaisons,” “Parker,” “Pro Pool,” “Rest Stop,” “Take Me Home” and “When You Left Me On That Boulevard.”
Tickets are available on the Buskirk-Chumley Theater’s website. They are $11 for adults and $9 for students.
