A hiker discovered human skeletal remains March 2 in a wooded area near the Monroe County Airport, according to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives found evidence suggesting no foul play was involved in the person’s death, the release said. They are reviewing missing person reports from the last year for leads.
Detectives are working with the Monroe County Coroner’s Office and an anthropology team from the University of Indianapolis to identify the individual.
