Indiana men’s basketball sophomore forward Kaleb Banks entered the transfer portal Tuesday, according to the Field of 68 on X, formerly known as Twitter. Banks spent two seasons with the Hoosiers and made 38 appearances on the court, 21 this year.

The Hampton, Georgia, native averaged 2.1 points and 1.0 rebounds in 6.1 minutes per game his freshman season. Despite entering this year with an expectation of receiving an increased role, Banks’ minutes and productions hardly improved. He averaged 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in 10.6 minutes per contest.

Banks played in all of the Hoosiers’ first 19 games of the season before completely falling out of the rotation. He made his final appearance in the season finale against Nebraska in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals. He played seven minutes in the contest, his most in a game since a matchup against Ohio State on Jan. 6.

Banks committed to Indiana on July 23, 2021. He was a 4-star recruit and was rated 92nd nationally according to the 247sports composite rankings.
