Huge congratulates to Bloomington Township Trustee Efrat Rosser on her appointment as the next MCDP Vice Chair! A long-time resident of Monroe County and an alumna from Indiana University, Efrat is a welcome addition to our team who will use her experience to excel in this new role.
Additionally, Efrat has served as Assistant Director of Finance for the City of Bloomington Utilities and Executive Director of United Way of Monroe County, along with serving leadership positions on Monroe County’s Women’s Commission and Redevelopment Commission.
You can learn more about Efrat here!
Women’s History Month Spotlight
Follow MCDP on Facebook and Instagram as we take time this month to highlight and celebrate our community's female heritage and women leaders!
Agnes Evans married local Bloomingtonian, Chester Evans, and later studied at Indiana University. After graduation, she became heavily involved in the national suffrage movement and the local political scene—eventually becoming the first woman MCDP Party Chair in 1922 and the first woman to hold a county party chairmanship in Indiana.
She spent the remainder of her life fighting for better female representation in government and increased participation in the electoral process.
Poll Workers Needed!
Are you interested in being a poll worker on Election Day, or during Early Voting? This is a paid opportunity. Contact the Democratic poll worker recruiter, Orion Saft, at the information below:

Thank you to our Four Freedoms Circle donors who contribute monthly to MCDP! In January 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt first spoke of the FOUR FREEDOMS in his state of the Union address. He proposed four fundamental freedoms that people everywhere in the world should enjoy: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Worship, Freedom From Want, and Freedom From Fear. Our belief in the Four Freedoms is fundamental to our identity as Democrats. In much the same way, our sustaining donors – those who choose to support the Monroe County Democratic Party through ongoing, monthly gifts – are fundamental to the work we do every single day. When you choose to make monthly gifts through ActBlue, our online giving portal, you provide critical support for the infrastructure, space, and staff on which we rely in all our work.
