Indiana men’s basketball snags Illinois transfer forward Luke Goode

Illinois transfer Luke Goode committed to Indiana men’s basketball Friday, he announced on X, formally known as Twitter. Goode is the Hoosiers’ fourth transfer pickup this offseason.

Goode is a Fort Wayne, Indiana, native, and was a 3-star prospect but did not receive an offer from IU out of Homestead High School. In three seasons with the Fighting Illini, Goode averaged 4.1 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.

Goode is a sharpshooting 6-foot-7 forward — a need on Indiana’s roster. He shot 38.8% from 3-point range during his time at Illinois, and 219 of his 265 career shot attempts have come from beyond the arc.

Goode faced the Hoosiers four times with Illinois. In two contests against them his freshman year, he played a combined 10 minutes and scored just 3 points. The last two seasons, he averaged 9 points and 2.5 rebounds with four total 3-pointers.

Goode entered the transfer portal April 22 and received a crystal ball prediction to Indiana from On3’s Jamie Shaw, who made the prediction within an hour of Goode’s announcement.
