The Monroe County Emergency Management Agency will be conducting a test of the outdoor warning sirens at noon Tuesday to test newly installed sirens, according to a press release.
The press release said it will be an additional test to the regular monthly warning sirens test.
Monroe County has replaced seven sirens around the county which will be tested to ensure they work properly Tuesday, Justin Baker, deputy director of the Monroe County Emergency Management Agency, said in an email to the Indiana Daily Student.
The test will not take place if there is severe weather around the time of the test, he said in the email.
