Indiana track and field concluded its regular season at the Billy Hayes Invitational on Friday. At the Hoosiers’ sole home outdoor meet, the team captured seven event titles and 24 personal bests.
In the final of the women’s 100-meter hurdles, senior Olivia Gee snagged third in 13.95 seconds. Graduate student Antonio Laidler won the men’s final in 10.34 seconds.
Laidler teamed up with sophomore Novo Onovwerosuoke and juniors Otto De St Jeor and Trelee Banks to win the 4x100-meter relay in 39.91 seconds.
In the men’s 800-meter run, sophomore Nico Colchico finished second with a new personal best of 1:47.59.
Sophomore Ryann Parish placed third in the women’s 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.68, a new personal best. Graduate student Micah Camble claimed first on the men’s side, running a personal-best time of 51.15 seconds.
In the women’s 200-meter dash, senior Morgan Snow finished second in 24.30 seconds. In the men’s race, De St Jeor won in a personal-best time of 20.95 seconds and Onovwerosuoke earned second in 21.31 seconds.
Sophomore Cole Raymond placed second in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:13:52, a new personal best.
In the women’s 1,500-meter run, senior Mariah Wehrle secured the title with a personal-best time of 4:21.12. Freshman Aidan Lord finished third in the men’s race, earning a personal best of 3:41.77.
The Hoosiers had a strong showing in the field events, led by junior Sean Mockler breaking his own school record in the men’s hammer throw with a launch of 68.82 meters to place second.
Junior Tyler Carrel finished second in the men’s pole vault, clearing 5.30 meters. Graduate student Nathan Stone earned third, vaulting 5.15 meters.
In the men’s long jump, sophomore Alex Smith claimed first with a leap of 7.41 meters.
Graduate student Grayson Rolen added another title, clearing 2.06 meters in the men’s high jump. Freshman Deepak Laungani took second with the same height, a new personal best.
In the women’s triple jump, sophomore Kelly Moran finished second with a personal-best jump of 12.13 meters.
Indiana will travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan, for postseason competition at the Outdoor Big Ten Championships hosted by the University of Michigan from May 10-12.
