Monroe County Fair begins June 29

The Monroe County Fair will be from June 29 through July 7 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. The fair is open to the public and will include attractions like the carnival and 4-H exhibits. Free parking is available for the whole fair. 

Here’s a look at the fair schedule. 

Carnival schedule 

The Monroe County Fair Carnival will be July 2- July 7. Admission to the fair is $5 per person over 13 years old and $3 per person between the ages of six and 12. Weekly passes are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages six to 12. Children ages five and under will have free admission.  

Below is the carnival schedule for each day:   

Tuesday, July 2 – The carnival will open at 6 p.m. In honor of opening night, armbands for unlimited rides will cost only $30. 

Wednesday, July 3 – For Kids Day, the carnival will open at 2 p.m. Armbands for unlimited rides will be available for the cost of two for one. Two armbands will cost $35.  

Thursday, July 4 – The carnival will open at 6 p.m. All rides will cost only one ticket. Tickets are $2 each or $30 for 16 tickets.  

Friday, July 5 – The carnival will open at 5 p.m., and armbands for unlimited rides will cost $35.  

Saturday, July 6 – The carnival will open at 2 p.m. Tickets and armbands for rides will be available.  

Sunday, July 7 – For Family Bargain Afternoon, the carnival will be open from 1– 5 p.m. All rides will cost only one ticket. Tickets are $2 each or $30 for 16 tickets. 

Grandstand schedule 

Admission for all grandstand events for adults is $10 and $5 for children ages 12 and under. “Pit passes” are available for $20. 

Below is the Grandstand schedule for each day:  

Monday, July 1 – Supercross races will begin at 7 p.m. 

Tuesday, July 2 – Truck and Tractor Pulls will begin at 7 p.m. 

Wednesday, July 3 – Touch-a-Truck, where children are able to interact with vehicles including firetrucks, police cars, tractors and more, will be held from noon– 3 p.m. At 7 p.m., the Mini Excavator Rodeo and Tractor Games will begin.  

Thursday, July 4 – The rodeo will begin at 7 p.m.  

Friday, July 5 – The ATV and motorcycle races will begin at 7 p.m.  

Saturday, July 6 – The Demolition Derby will begin at 7 p.m.  

Auditorium schedule 

Admission to auditorium events is free. The only event that will have an admission fee is the Baby Contest, which is $5 for adults.  

Saturday, June 29 – The Princess and Queen contest will be held at 7 p.m.  

Sunday, June 30 – The City Church Night of Worship will begin at 7 p.m. 

Monday, July 1 – Registration for the Baby Contest will begin at 4 p.m., and the contest will start at 5 p.m. 

Tuesday, July 2 – A royal breakfast will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. From 3-6 p.m., the Stop Knocking on Wood event with Farm Bureau will be held.  

Wednesday, July 3 – The WTIU Kids Day will be held from 3-8 p.m.  

Friday, July 5 – At 7 p.m., the Micro Wrestling Federation’s event will be held.  

Saturday, July 6 – The Royal Elite Dance will begin at 6 p.m. 

North Lawn Schedule 

Admission to events on the North Lawn is free. Events will be held from July 1-5. Laser tag will be held each day from 5-9 p.m. Bear Hollow wood carving will be held at 3, 5, 7 and 9 p.m. First Bite Fishing and Agri-Golf will be held from 2-10 p.m. World of Wonders will be held at 4, 6 and 8 p.m. Finally, the Museum of Marvel will be at 3, 5, 7 and 9 p.m.   

Family Stage Schedule 

Admission to events at the Family Stage is free.  

Monday, July 1 – Conner Loveless will perform at 6 p.m. and will be followed by Jake Dodds at 8 p.m.  

Tuesday, July 2 – The small animal auction will be held at 7 p.m.  

Wednesday, July 3 – Michael Norris will perform at 6 p.m., and Hank Ruff will perform at 8 p.m.  

Thursday, July 4 – Dawn Keller will perform at 6 p.m. and will be followed by The All Access Band at 8 p.m.  

Friday, July 5 – Bonita will perform at 8 p.m.  

Kids’ Big Top Tent Schedule 

Admission to events at the Kids’ Big Top Tent is free. Events will be held from July 1-5. Each day, the Silly Safari will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the Peddle Tractor Pull will begin at 5:30 p.m. On July 3, the Silly Safari will have an additional time at noon.  

West Lawn Schedule 

Tether balloon rides are available June 30 and July 1.
