Motorcyclist killed in two-vehicle collision south of Bloomington

The driver of a motorcycle was killed in a two-vehicle accident Sunday evening at East Dillman Road and South Old State Road 37, according to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. 

Deputies determined from witnesses the motorcycle was driving at a high speed east on East Dillman Road and disregarded the stop sign at the intersection with South Old State Road 37. The motorcycle then collided with an SUV heading north on South Old State Road 37. 

Deputies performed CPR and deployed an automated external defibrillator but were unsuccessful, according to the release. The driver was pronounced dead by the Monroe County Coroner’s Office, which is working to identify the deceased and notify their family. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Crash Reconstruction team.
