“Desiree brings a breadth of experience and expertise in marketing, communications, and operations in the arts, economic development, and not-for-profit sectors,” said Mayor Thomson. “Her career focus on community engagement and connection will be instrumental in transforming the way the City communicates and shares information with residents, City employees, and stakeholders.”

Previously, DeMolina served as the Community Relations and Marketing Director at the Alliance for the Arts, a nonprofit visual and performing arts center in Fort Myers, FL. There, she developed the marketing and communications vision that enabled the Alliance for the Arts’ rapid growth into a leading cultural institution, significantly increasing its long-term sustainability and regional visibility.

"Since the beginning of my career, I have been dedicated to community building and enhancing communication strategies that promote transparency, engagement, and inclusivity," said DeMolina. "I am honored to have the opportunity to bring this dedication to the City of Bloomington and look forward to collaborating with our community to reach our goals together."

In her new role, DeMolina will oversee the City's communication efforts, including media relations, digital and social media strategies, public information dissemination, and community outreach.

DeMolina holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication, with a Concentration in Public Relations from Florida Gulf Coast University. Her appointment begins June 10.
