The following is a press release written by Jim Sims for the Monroe County NAACP Branch.
The Executive Committee of the Monroe County Branch of the NAACP announces that effective June 1, 2024, Maqubè Reese has stepped down from her role as Branch President. First Vice President Jim Sims assumes the position of President and Beverly Calender-Anderson assumes the role of First Vice President. Ms. Reese will continue to serve on the executive committee as an at-large member.
We are grateful to Ms. Reese for her leadership as Branch President since January of 2023 and for notifying the executive committee in late April of her resignation effective June 1st, allowing sufficient time for a smooth transition.
