The following is a press release written by Julie Ramey for City of Bloomington.
Bloomington, Ind.—The Bloomington Community Farmers' Market opens the weekday version of the Market for the 2024 season on June 4 from 4-7 p.m. at Switchyard Park, 1601 S. Rogers St. in Bloomington.
Tuesday Market features farm vendors with fresh, locally grown farm products, and prepared food vendors who use locally made and grown ingredients in their ready-to-eat offerings. Admission is free.
Parking for the Tuesday Market is available in the Switchyard Park parking lot off Rogers Street; accessible parking spaces and EV charging stations are available near the Pavilion building. Vehicle parking is also available at the Grimes Lane and South Walnut Street entrances to Switchyard Park. Bike racks are located north of the Switchyard Park Pavilion. To visit the Tuesday Market via Bloomington Transit, take #2 South Rogers/Countryview.
The Tuesday Market also doubles Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) dollars again in 2024. Use the Hoosier Works Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card to exchange SNAP benefits for Market Bucks at the Tuesday Market info tent. Spend up to $27 with an EBT card and get up to $54 of fresh food per visit. Market Bucks are available in $3 increments, and can be used just like cash at the Tuesday Market to buy food stamp-eligible farm products.
