The Fourth of July Parade and the 9 a.m. performance by the Bloomington Community Band is cancelled, according to a City of Bloomington press release Thursday. The Fourth of July Parade was set to take place 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. in Downtown Bloomington but has been cancelled due to severe weather.

“We share our community’s disappointment, but the safety of parade participants, spectators and our staff is our highest priority,” Community Relations Manager Julie Ramey said in an email statement.

There is no indication that it will be rescheduled.

There will still be places to view fireworks in town. Fourwinds Lakeside Inn & Marina will host a fireworks show at 6 p.m. and said in a Facebook post the event will take place rain or shine.

The fireworks show at Lemon Lake has a reschedule date for July 7 in case of rain.
