Monroe County government offices and courts will remain closed through Friday due to a server outage and will reopen July 8, according to a Monroe County alert email Tuesday.
Monroe County government offices and courts closed at noon Monday due to a “government wide server outage,” the IDS reported.
The outage continues to affect many, but not all, Monroe County government offices, according to a press release Tuesday from Commissioners’ Administrator Angela Purdie.
The release offered no timeline for when the issue will be resolved, but Purdie wrote they “hope to be in better standing later this week.”
According to the release, a “technological event” occurred which made the servers inaccessible. The county has commissioned “outside professional help” to resolve the issue.
Monroe County law enforcement, including jail staff and road deputies, have still been able to operate despite the server outage, according to the alert and release.
“We apologize for this inconvenience to our community, our departments, our employees, and our vendors,” Purdie wrote in the release.
Until a full analysis of their network and servers is complete, the county commissioners will not comment further on the matter and will share more information once it’s available, Purdie wrote.
