Monroe County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. The watch includes 14 counties in Indiana.

A severe thunderstorm warning indicates severe weather is occurring or will be shortly in a location. In the case of a warning, residents should take shelter in a substantial building and leave mobile homes that could blow over in high winds.
