Press Release: Bloomington Utilities Expands Aid Program & Extends SCCAP Partnership

Bloomington, Ind. – The City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) has raised the income threshold for its financial assistance program offered to customers in partnership with the South-Central

Community Action Program (SCCAP). A customer may now qualify if the household is at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Guideline. For instance, a family of four with an annual income of $93,600 would be financially eligible.

Customers may qualify more than once per year, and other options such as payment plans are also available. Information can be found at bloomington.in.gov/utilities/residential.

CBU budgeted $50,000 for this program in 2024. To apply, please fill out an online interest form at civiform.bloomington.in.gov/programs/water-assistance or contact SCCAP at 812-339-3447.
