Body found inside car submerged in Bloomington pond Sunday

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies found a body in the driver’s seat of a car submerged in a pond Sunday in Bloomington, according to a MCSO press release.   

The press release states officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of N. Stonelake Drive, a residential area near State Road 45 and I-69, due to a report of a vehicle seen partially submerged in a pond in the area.  

The Monroe County Dive Team, EMS and Fire Department were dispatched to the area. MCSO detectives and crash reconstructionist were also called to the scene.  

The dive team located the car and found the body of a single occupant in the driver's seat, who was already deceased.  

The person's identification is not being released at this time, according to the release. The investigation is ongoing, with an autopsy scheduled for Monday.
