Rape inside campus fraternity house reported to IU police

A rape occurred inside Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house early Friday morning, according to an IU Bloomington crime notification sent to students.  

According to the notice, the rape occurred between 12:30-2 a.m. The suspect is known to the IU Police Department.  

The suspect was described as a white male with green eyes and dark brown, shorter shaggy hair. The notice said the suspect also has no facial hair, thick dark eyebrows, is 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds. The suspect is a student but does not reside on campus. 

IUPD encourages anyone with information on the crime or other crimes to call its department at 812-855-4111. 

IUPD is still investigating the incident. IUPD Public Information Officer Hannah Skibba said IUPD cannot release any other information at this time.

To obtain a protective order after experiencing domestic violence or sexual abuse, Monroe County has a Protective Order Assistance Partnership.    

The Monroe County Victims Assistance Program provides assistance for crime victims in understanding how their case progresses through the justice system.
