No injuries reported after gunshots heard near Bruster’s Ice Cream

Bloomington Police Department officers responded to a call about gunshots heard around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday near Bruster’s Real Ice Cream on East Third Street, according to an article from Indiana Public Media. Witnesses said they saw a light-colored sedan speed off westward on Third Street immediately after the shots were heard, according to BPD. 

Witnesses reported the shots were directed toward a man who dropped to the sidewalk before eventually fleeing the scene on foot, according to a report from the Bloomingtonian. Officers have not found the civilian or any evidence he was injured. They also found multiple bullet casings near the intersection of Morningside Drive and Third Street.  

This investigation is ongoing.
