Indiana Athletics and Finney Hospitality Group have partnered for a new promotion that turns missed free throws into free french fries, according to an Indiana Athletics press release issued Tuesday.

“The Finney Hospitality Group has been a big part of some of the exciting changes we’ve made around concessions this year, and this is a new, exciting part of those changes,” Indiana athletic director Scott Dolson said in a statement to the Indiana Daily Student. “This will be a fun, engaging opportunity for our fans, who already make Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall one of the toughest places for opposing teams to play. I think this can take that to a whole new level.”

If Indiana men’s basketball’s opponents miss two consecutive free throws at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, fans can receive free french fries at any Finney restaurants across Indiana. Yogi’s, Social Cantina, The Tap and SmokeWorks are the four participating restaurants. The Tap’s location at the Indianapolis International Airport is not included.

To redeem their reward, fans must download the Finney Hospitality Group (FHG) app and complete the sign-up process. The free fries will become available in the app at 9 a.m. the following day.

Fans have to purchase a meal to claim their reward, which is redeemable only for the day after the game. The offer is valid for dine-in only.

Indiana men’s basketball plays its first home exhibition against Marian University on Friday inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers begin the regular season versus Southern Illinois University Edwardsville at 8 p.m. Nov. 6 at home.
