Former Indiana men’s basketball player, Miller Kopp, signed to the Oklahoma City Thunder’s training camp roster on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-7-inch, 220-pound forward spent the past season with the Thunder’s G-League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue. Kopp played 41 total games for the Blues, averaging 8.3 points, three rebounds and .9 assists per game.
The Blue won their first NBA G-League title for the 2023-24 season. Kopp played in all four of the Blue’s playoff games en route to their championship title.
A native of Houston, Texas, Kopp played high school basketball at Houston Christian before committing to Northwestern.
As a Wildcat, Kopp averaged 9.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game over three seasons from 2018-2021.
Kopp transferred to Indiana as a redshirt junior and started all 35 games in 2021-22 under head coach Mike Woodson, averaging six points per game.
As a senior, Kopp started all 35 games and averaged 30.3 minutes per game — the only Hoosier to start every game in 2022-23 season. He averaged 8.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game while his 63 three pointers ranked first on the team.
Along with his basketball achievements, Kopp earned Academic All-Big Ten honors and a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Honoree his senior year.
Kopp is now set to play under Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault during the preseason, but will likely return to the Blue for the G-League season.
The Thunder won their first preseason game against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. Kopp and the Thunder will continue the preseason schedule against the Houston Rockets at 8 p.m. EST Wednesday.
