Indiana men’s soccer graduate student forward Justin Weiss and junior outside back Quinton Elliot secured Big Ten Offensive Player and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, on Tuesday.
The two honors mark the second consecutive week Indiana earned two of the conference weekly awards, after freshman midfielder Charlie Heuer and sixth-year senior defender Jansen Miller won freshman and defensive player of the week, respectively.
Weiss scored his first two goals of the season in Indiana’s 5-0 victory over Michigan, and he followed up the performance with a goal in the Hoosiers’ 3-1 win over Michigan State. The Northwestern transfer had won the attacker of the week award before, securing the honor with the Wildcats in 2023.
Elliot netted a goal and contributed an assist against the Wolverines, while also helping the Hoosiers earn a clean sheet. The University of Louisville transfer was also credited with an assist against the Spartans.
Indiana returns to action against UCLA at 10:30 p.m. EST Friday in Los Angeles. Coverage will be available on the Big Ten Network.
