Indiana men’s soccer earned a share of the Big Ten regular season title Tuesday night following its 6-1 win over Northwestern at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington.
Indiana still has a chance of earning an outright Big Ten title and a No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament with either a draw or loss for No. 1 Ohio State. The Buckeyes face No. 10 Maryland on Sunday.
A 2-2 draw from Ohio State against Michigan State on Tuesday night granted the Hoosiers the chance to clinch a share of the regular season title, and they did just that after thumping the Wildcats.
The title marks Indiana’s 19th Big Ten regular season title in its history and its fifth in the last seven years. Most recently, the Hoosiers split the 2023 regular season title with Penn State.
Following a loss to Maryland on Sept. 20, Indiana sat with a 2-3-3 overall record and 1-1-0 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers proceeded to finish the season with a 7-0-2 stretch including marquee away victories over then-No. 8 Wisconsin and then-No. 15 UCLA.
The Hoosiers close out their regular season with a match against Trine University at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington.
