More than 20 Monroe County businesses faced critical violations between Aug. 1 and Sept. 28 according to the Monroe County Health Department’s interactive map. According to the Monroe County website, critical violations more commonly contribute to foodborne diseases than other non-critical violations.

Violation was due to debris build-up in the ice machine.

Three violations were due to raw meat being stored above the vegetables, no date markings on foods held over 24 hours and the presence of live and dead pests throughout the facility.

Two violations were due to observed ready-to-eat food without date markings and observed bins for holding food and food ingredients with cracks in them.
