Mayor Kerry Thomson Announces December Public Engagement Opportunities
Events Include Town Halls, Listening Sessions, and Informal Office Hours

BLOOMINGTON, IND. – Mayor Kerry Thomson is hosting three public engagement events throughout December, providing residents with opportunities to connect with City leadership, share feedback, and stay informed about city initiatives. Covering topics such as city projects and annexation, these events create a platform for the public and media to engage directly with the Mayor and other local officials.

Traveling Town Hall
Tuesday, Dec. 3 • 6-7:30 p.m.
Monroe County Public Library—Downtown, 303 E. Kirkwood Avenue

Mayor Kerry Thomson and Council Member Sydney Zulich will provide updates on city projects and services and engage with residents in an interactive forum. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about ongoing initiatives.

Annexation Listening Session
Monday, Dec. 9 • 5:30–6:30 p.m.
Monroe County Public Library—Southwest Branch, 890 W. Gordon Pike

This session, led by Mayor Kerry Thomson and Margie Rice, Corporation Counsel for the City of Bloomington, will focus on the annexation process. The discussion will address resident feedback and examine how annexation impacts Bloomington’s future.

Traveling Office Hours
Tuesday, Dec. 10 • 2-4 p.m.
Mother Bear's Pizza West, 2980 W. Whitehall Crossing Blvd.

In a casual, one-on-one setting, residents can meet with Mayor Thomson to discuss local initiatives and share feedback. Appointments must be booked in 15-minute intervals in advance at ootm.schedulebloomington.com/motherbears2024 or call the Office of the Mayor at 812-349-3406.

Town Hall and the Annexation Listening session will broadcast live and be recorded for later viewing through Community Access Television Services (CATS), ensuring accessibility for those unable to attend in person.

“Building a culture of openness and collaboration has always been my focus,” says Mayor Kerry Thomson. “I want every community member to feel invited, listened to, and confident that their input is valued. Making city government accessible and easy to engage with is key. These events are open to everyone and we welcome participation at any level.”
