Two separate sexual battery cases were reported to the IU Police Department on Oct. 25 and 26.
IUPD officers met with an EMT who said a male sexually assaulted them during a transport by ambulance to the hospital Oct. 25. The suspect touched himself and the EMT inappropriately, and the incident is still under investigation, IUPD Public Information Officer Hannah Skibba wrote in an email.
Another incident occurred Oct. 26 when a male assaulted an individual at Memorial Stadium, Skibba wrote. The victim reported the male touched them inappropriately. The suspect was identified and advised of a one-year trespass from all IU property and events, Skibba wrote in an email. The victim did not press charges.
IU refers to the Indiana Criminal Code’s definition of sexual battery, which is the nonconsensual touching of another person’s private body parts with intent to arouse or satisfy the person's own sexual desires or the sexual desires of another person. Twelve cases of sexual battery have been reported to IUPD since Aug. 21, according to the IUPD crime log.
