5 unique lattes worth trying

entbloomlattes110724.jpg

Bloomington is blessed with an overwhelming number of local coffee shops in the area. As fun as it already is to support local coffee shops, you could be having more fun with your drink! The next time you are craving a latte, I dare you to stray away from the basic vanilla syrup and try something eccentric. If you need inspiration, here is a list of five peculiar yet delicious lattes that are tired of going unnoticed.

322 E Kirkwood Avenue

If you enjoy the flavor combination of chocolate and berries, you will like $6 Soma’s Razz-Ma-Tazz latte. The Razz-Ma-Tazz latte is a dark chocolate mocha with the addition of raspberry syrup. The rich chocolate perfectly complements the sweet raspberry flavor and resembles the taste of a pomegranate Brookside chocolate.

316 S Swain Avenue

Crumble is offering a seasonal drink that pushes the boundaries of typical lattes. The $4.50 Vampire Blood latte contains espresso, white chocolate syrup and strawberry syrup. This sweet drink is guaranteed to be a hit for strawberry milk, Strawberries 'N' Creme’s Hershey bar  and strawberry shortcake lovers.

3105 S Sare Road

Named after DeMets’ turtle candy, the $5 Turtle Latte at Verona pairs espresso with chocolate and caramel syrup topped with a pecan flavored cold foam. In one sip, you’ll taste the smooth coffee flavor mixed with the creamy pecan topping.  If you enjoy hazelnut or caramel flavors in your coffee, I encourage you to try this signature latte.

412 E 6th Street

Did you know the popular mint chocolate flavor could be added to your coffee? Runcible’s $6 mint mocha executes its latte with Creme de menthe, espresso, chocolate steamed milk and foam. If Girl Scout Thin Mints can be a yearly success, then there is no reason why the Mint Mocha at Runcible can’t be too.

104 N Pete Ellis Drive

Who said you can’t enjoy s’mores in November? The $8 Iced Campfire Latte at Needmore captures the distinct flavor by adding sweet liquid smoke, chocolate syrup and marshmallow syrup to the drink. If you are longing to try something new, the classic s’mores flavors will not disappoint.

Be adventurous and try a new latte this week! Who knows, it might become your new favorite drink!
