After Indiana football finished 11-1 for the first time in program history with its victory over Purdue on Nov. 30, six Hoosiers earned all-conference honors, according to a Big Ten release Tuesday.
Offense
Sixth-year senior quarterback Kurtis Rourke — All-Big Ten Second Team (Coaches and Media)
Rourke, who transferred to Indiana from Ohio University over the offseason, earned second-team honors. Rourke started 11 games for the Hoosiers, leading the Big Ten in touchdown passes (27) and the fewest interceptions (4).
Rourke finished the season with 2,827 passing yards — the seventh-most in a single season by an Indiana quarterback. He is also a semifinalist for the Maxwell, Walter Camp Award and the Davey O’Brien Award.
Junior wide receiver Elijah Sarratt — All-Big Ten Third Team (Coaches and Media)
Sarratt caught 49 passes over 12 games, finishing fifth in the Big Ten in receiving yards with 890. The Stafford, Virginia, native also racked up eight touchdowns.
Going by his “Waffle House” nickname for being open 24/7, Sarratt caught a pass in each of his 37 games played across three schools — Saint Francis University, James Madison University and now Indiana.
Sixth-year senior offensive lineman Mike Katic –– All-Big Ten Third Team (Media)
After Indiana finished 3-9 last season, Katic announced his intentions to enter the NFL Draft. But after Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti arrived in Bloomington, Katic decided to return for his sixth and final season in the Cream and Crimson.
Katic was graded as the fifth-best center in the Big Ten, according to Pro Football Focus. He led the Hoosiers’ offensive line, ranked the third-best unit in the conference, to be named a Joe Moore Award semifinalist — which recognizes the most outstanding offensive line in college football.
The Pittsburgh native started all 12 games, serving as a captain this season.
Defense
Redshirt junior defensive lineman Mikail Kamara — All-Big Ten First Team (Coaches and Media)
Kamara finished second in the Big Ten with 10 sacks and 15 tackles for loss while racking up 44 total tackles.
The James Madison University transfer forced a pair of fumbles and recovered three fumbles this season. He also finished first in the Big Ten in total pressures (64) and second in the Power Four, according to PFF.
Junior linebacker Aiden Fisher — All-Big Ten First Team (Coaches and Media)
Fisher, who followed Cignetti from James Madison, led the Hoosiers and finished third in the Big Ten in total tackles with 108.
The Fredericksburg, Virginia, native made at least eight tackles in eight of 12 games this season and also finished with double-digit tackles in four games. He racked up four tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
Sophomore cornerback D’Angelo Ponds — All-Big Ten First Team (Coaches and Media)
Ponds was graded as the third-best coverage cornerback in the conference as he notched two interceptions and nine pass breakups. He also scored a pick-six during Indiana’s victory over Washington on Oct. 26.
He also finished with 53 total tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss.
