Former Indiana football wide receiver Donaven McCulley transferred to Michigan on Dec. 13. The senior entered the portal Oct. 1.
In a breakout season in 2023, McCulley caught 48 passes for 644 yards and six touchdowns, earning All-Big Ten honorable mention. He initially entered the transfer portal following the season but returned to the Hoosiers for the 2024 season.
An upper-body injury in Indiana's season-opener against Florida International University forced McCulley out of the game and kept him out of the next contest against Western Illinois University.
McCulley returned against UCLA on Sept. 14 and played again against Maryland on Sept. 28, a game in which he caught his only touchdown of the season. However, his career at Indiana ended three days later when he entered the transfer portal, finishing his 2024 season with only two receptions for 21 yards.
Before committing to Michigan, McCulley had offers from Virginia Tech University and University of Oklahoma.
Following a 15-0 and national championship winning season, Michigan finished 7-5 in 2024. McCulley joins a wide receiver room that only accumulated 694 total receiving yards and four touchdowns.
McCulley has one year left of eligibility.
