Indiana men’s soccer is consistent.
The Hoosiers have 38 straight NCAA tournament appearances. They have reached the Sweet 16 in 10 straight seasons.
And now, for the eighth consecutive year, a Hoosier has been selected in the top 10 of the Major League Soccer SuperDraft, the longest active streak in the NCAA.
With the eighth pick in the draft, Sporting Kansas City selected fifth-year senior center back Jansen Miller in the 2025 edition of the draft Friday. The Ballwin, Missouri, native marks Indiana’s third consecutive defender drafted in the top 10, following Daniel Munie in the 2023 draft and Hugo Bacharach in 2024.
Miller began his college career at Xavier University, later joining the Hoosiers before the 2022 season. He started 40 of his 50 appearances for the Cream and Crimson, assisting five times and scoring two goals including the game-winner against Akron University in the NCAA Tournament on Nov. 24. Miller secured second team All-Big Ten in the 2024 season.
Miller was not the only Hoosier drafted in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, as senior forward Sam Sarver and sophomore forward Collins Oduro were selected in the second round.
Sarver went to FC Dallas with the 41st overall pick, following a season with five goals and a team-high eight assists. In four years with the Hoosiers, the Chesterland, Ohio, native totaled 24 goals and 22 assists in 90 appearances, earning All-American honors the past three seasons.
Just 16 spots after Sarver, Orlando City SC selected Oduro. Following five goals and two assists in his freshman campaign, Oduro had a quieter start to his sophomore season but ultimately finished with three goals and five assists.
Indiana’s three selections were tied for second most, only behind Wake Forest University’s four draftees.
