IU changes winter commencement times

The ceremonies for winter commencement will now take place 9 a.m. and noon Dec. 20 at the IU Auditorium.  

The ceremonies are expected to end at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. 

Indiana University changed the times for the ceremony to allow graduating students to attend IU’s football game against Notre Dame at 8 p.m. at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, marking the first round of the College Football Playoff.  

Previously, the ceremonies were set to begin at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Dec. 20. 

IU Football is currently seeded No. 10. Notre Dame Football is seeded No. 5. The winner of the Dec. 20 game will move on to play the University of Georgia at 8:45 p.m. Jan 1 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
