Rape reported from Willkie Quad

Crime Filler

Editor’s Note: This story includes mention of sexual violence.

A rape that occurred at Willkie Quadrangle during the fall 2024 semester was reported to the IU Police Department on Wednesday.

IU’s Title IX Office reported the incident to IUPD, and it was not reported by the individual involved. The case has been referred to university officials for review, IUPD Public Information Officer Hannah Skibba said in an email.

IU defines rape as the nonconsensual penetration of the private body parts by an object or any body part of another person or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person.

There have been 23 cases of rape reported to IUPD since Aug. 21, according to Skibba.
