The Indiana University Police Department arrested two suspects after multiple thefts from the Pfau Course in Bloomington, according to a Feb. 27 press release.

On Feb. 14, Caleb Thurman and Caelan Hamilton were both charged with level 5 felony burglary and theft with an additional level 6 felony theft charge after officers conducted a search warrant on an off-campus location, IUPD said in the press release. Hamilton was also charged with a previous outstanding warrant.

IUPD responded to a reported burglary Feb. 10 at the maintenance building of the Pfau Course. An IU employee stated multiple high-value items, including a 2019 John Deere tractor, were stolen between Feb. 8-10, with a total loss of $94,872.93.

Three days later, IUPD responded to a community social media post to help locate the stolen tractor. A tip from a Facebook follower helped detectives identify a location key to the investigation.

Officers recovered $93,525.93 of the stolen property.

Anyone with additional information regarding this case can contact Det. Brian Cartwright at bricartw@iu.edu or 812-856-7139, according to the release.
