A large multi-agency police response is underway at Homewood Suites on the southwest side of Bloomington.
No agency has confirmed the reason for the police presence. The hotel’s parking lot is full of Indiana State Police, Monroe County Sheriff and Bloomington Police Department vehicles. At least one ambulance and an Ellettsville fire truck is present.
Nine critical incident response team officers entered the building at 3:05 p.m. Around 4 p.m., officers began setting up a ladder by the building.
One sniper is overlooking the hotel from the adjacent Honda Service Center. Employees at the service center told the IDS that they had not heard any gunshots.
Liberty Drive is partially closed.
