No. 2 Indiana men’s swim and dive concluded its regular season with a dual meet against the No. 11 University of Louisville on Friday at the Ralph Wright Natatorium in Louisville. The Hoosiers swept the diving events and won all but three of the swimming events.

Indiana senior Quinn Henninger claimed victories in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions and posted NCAA Zone qualifying scores in both events.

The Hoosiers started off strong in the 200-yard medley relay, as the group of freshman Miroslav Knedla, junior Matt Kings, senior Finn Brooks and graduate student Brian Benzing got the win with a NCAA B Cut time of 1:23.74. The time also marked a Ralph Wright Natatorium pool record.

Brooks added to his relay win with a victory in 100-yard butterfly, and Benzing took first in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Junior Zalán Sárkány showcased his Olympic talent with dominant victories in both long-distance freestyle swims, both of which set new pool records. His time of 8:43.28 in the 1000-yard freestyle was over 21 seconds faster than second place.

Fellow Olympian and Indiana senior Rafael Miroslaw joined Sárkány as the only Hoosiers with multiple individual victories. Miroslaw claimed first place in both the 100 and 200-yard freestyle, with B Cut times in each event.

Indiana won both backstroke events, as junior Owen McDonald and senior Olympian Josh Matheny won the 100 and 200-yard distances, respectively.

Miroslaw and King were joined by senior Luke Barr and fellow Olympian and graduate student Tomer Frankel in the 400-yard freestyle relay, where they closed out the meet with an impressive NCAA A Cut time of 2:47.87 to win the event and set another pool record.

Indiana’s dominant performances added up to a 189.5-110.5 victory, and gave the Hoosiers their 13th straight win over Louisville, as the Hoosiers have defeated the Cardinals in every matchup since 2013.

Indiana will look to claim its fourth straight title in the Big Ten Championships starting Feb. 26 at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.
