The following is a press release written by Desiree DeMolina for the City of Bloomington.
Bloomington, Ind. - The City of Bloomington is looking for a creative design to transform a new community event trailer into a vibrant, traveling work of art. The 6’x12’ cargo trailer—available for free to neighborhoods, community groups, and City departments—will bring people together at block parties, pop-up events, and meetings across the city.
The selected design will serve as a highly visible representation of Bloomington’s vibrant community and creative identity. The City seeks a design that is engaging, welcoming, and reflective of Bloomington’s character. As the trailer moves throughout the city, it will not only promote the availability of this community resource but also highlight the artistic talent within Bloomington.
All professional artists and artist teams aged 18 and older are encouraged to apply. The selected artist will receive a $1,000 honorarium for their work, and the City will coordinate the printing and application of the design.
“We are excited that this new community resource will also be an opportunity to showcase the work of Bloomington’s talented local artists. The trailer, which we hope to launch late this spring, will contain fun both inside and out, with an inviting, creative exterior design and all the equipment and supplies needed to throw a great community event!”
