The IU chapter of Beta Sigma Psi was placed on cease and desist Friday for alcohol and endangering others. All organizational activities are suspended until further notice.
The fraternity was already on disciplinary status effective Aug. 23, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2025, for violations including alcohol, controlled substances, endangering others, hazing, sexual harassment and lewd and indecent conduct, according to the IU Office of Student Life list of organizations on disciplinary status.
Beta Sigma Psi is now the third organization currently on cease and desist, and the second organization to receive the designation this semester. Sigma Chi was placed on cease and desist Nov. 5, 2024, and Sigma Delta Tau received the designation Jan. 28.
Beta Sigma Psi was previously placed on cease and desist Feb. 5, 2024, for hazing.
Eight organizations are on suspension, four on disciplinary status and two on voluntary resolution agreement.
