Indiana women's swimming and diving places 4th overall in the 2025 NCAA Championships

Indiana women’s swimming and diving had its best team finish in program history placing fourth overall in the 2025 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. 

The Hoosiers had two women on the podium and one national champion at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington.

Senior Anna Peplowski led the way for the Hoosiers as she secured her first career national championship title Friday in the 200-yard freestyle. She finished with a time of 1:40.50, winning the race by just .06 seconds and scoring the seventh best time in the collegiate history of the event. 

In the 100-yard backstroke, three-time All-American and Texas A&M University sophomore transfer Miranda Grana made the podium, finishing third in the competition with a time of 49.62. She ended just .51 seconds off from first place.

Senior Kacey Mckenna and junior Mya Dewitt also swam in the 100-yard backstroke final, but Mckenna finished in 13th place with a time of 50.92 seconds while Dewitt finished 14th with a time of 51.06 seconds.

Grana also swam in the 100-yard butterfly race where she finished with a time of 50.01 seconds, placing her fourth overall and boosting Indiana’s overall score. 

The Hoosiers placed fourth out of 24 in the 400-yard medley race with Dewitt leading the pack swimming the backstroke, followed by four-time Big Ten medalist and senior Brearna Crawford who swam the breaststroke. In the back half of the race, Grana swam the butterfly and junior Kristina Paegle swam freestyle to finish it off.

Moving to the three meter diving competition, Indiana’s Skyler Liu, a senior from Guangxi, China, finished in third place with a score of 382.35, just 7.05 points out from first place. 

Overall, Indiana finished the championship in fourth place with a total score of 209.
