During the Spring National College Media Conference, the Associated Collegiate Press named the Indiana Daily Student as a winner for top college journalism websites.
The IDS website was named a recipient for the Pacemaker alongside 14 other colleges. This award is to honor digital student media produced in 2024 after June 17, focusing on news and feature websites.
“Our managing editor of digital, Calvin Josenhans, has done a fantastic job recruiting and training web design and development students. Because of this, we have a ton of beautiful buildouts for feature stories that have visual elements,” said Marissa Meador, co-editor-in-chief of the IDS.
This Pacemaker award “recognizes overall excellence and distinguishes the top student media produced during a particular school year.”
The IDS was also honored by the Columbia Scholastic Press Crown Awards on March 21, 2025. The IDS received the College Gold Hybrid News award amongst Humber Et Cetera and The Ithacan. These awards “are the highest recognition given by the CSPA to a student print or digital medium for overall excellence.”
“I am so glad to see the IDS staff receive recognition for the hard work they do each day. I’m always in awe of the talent and grit of my colleagues here, so it’s no surprise other organizations took notice,” said Meador.
